We had about 20 guys with about half that many wives (and one significant other) at the reunion today. We missed George Hart- he was a true Ahayweh and I believe being an Ahayweh was very important to him- and Rich Bolin gave a nice eulogy for him. Whatever it is that binds us together, it still means a lot after all these years. (I think a lack of pretentiousness is part of it, but I'd be interested in hearing other opinions.) I'm never sure afterward what we talked about, but I always remember it as enjoyable and maybe even important.
We didn't set a date for the next reunion, but I will suggest July 19th or July 12th, 2006 (I don't have a calendar in front of me so I hope I'm picking Saturdays.) If you have an opinion about the date, let me know soon; otherwise I will pick one and ask Rich Jarrell to post the date on the Ahayweh website. I hope more of you who couldn't come today can come next time.
Good luck to Ed Cheek.
