TREES CENTER AT INDIANA UNIVERSITY

It all began here, at Trees Center, reputedly purchased from the U.S. Army after World War II for $1 a building (which is more than they were worth, even then). Ahaywehs lived in Upper Linden (that is to say, the second story of Linden Hall). The other buildings were likewise named for trees (Maple, Pine, Hickory, etc.) with a central building (Arbutus Hall) for dining, snackbar and "sock hops", one supposes. Our feminine counterparts were housed in Pine Hall.

The pictures below were contributed by Jack Sciara.
